There’s still time to help families claim the expanded CTC, which provides up to $3,600 per child, including for kids in families with no or low income. Recent data demonstrates the CTC’s significant impact in reducing poverty. Unfortunately, many kids are at risk of missing out on these funds. This is an urgent time to spread the word because simplified filing through GetCTC.org closes on November 15th. This portal makes it easy for families to claim this money online on their own. In October, GetCTC.org will launch an option to also claim the EITC, helping families access even more funds. While families can continue to claim the CTC after November 15th, they’ll need to file full tax returns to do so.

How You Can Still Help Families Claim the 2021 Expanded Child Tax Credit this Fall and Beyond. Nearly 90% of kids in the U.S. became eligible for the Child Tax Credit when it was expanded in 2021. While tax season has passed, families can still claim the full 2021 CTC – up to $3,600 per child. They can file easily on their own through the simplified filing portal, GetCTC.org, before mid-November. After that, they can claim the CTC by filing full tax returns. In this webinar, we share CTC updates and information on utilizing GetCTC.org, and hear from community partners about how they’ve helped families claim the CTC. We also share ready-to-use, multilingual resources to help you spread the word, connect families to tax assistance, & address common questions related to immigration, public benefits impact and more! You do NOT have to be a tax expert. The training & resources are designed to help you easily integrate outreach in your existing work.
